Scott
Ritter is a former United Nations weapons inspector in Iraq (1991
-1998), former U.S. marine,and author of the recently-published book,
FRONTIER JUSTICE: Weapons of Mass Destruction and the Bushwacking
of America.
In this hard-hitting talk, this
former govenment insider exposes the lies behind the Bush administrations
illegal invasion of Iraq and the mounting human and economic costs
of the continued U.S. military occupation of Iraq. Ritter ends his
talk with an impassioned plea for grassroots citizen activism.
Ritter served for eight years
as an intelligence officer in the Marine Corps, and served as an arms
control inspector in the former Soviet Union and on General Norman
Schwarzkopfs staff during the Gulf War before his appointment
as a weapons inspector for UNSCOM. As the Chief of the Concealment
Investigations Team for the United Nations Special Commission, he
oversaw efforts to uncover the true weapons of mass destruction capability
of Iraq.
He has written about his experiences
in Iraq in ENDGAME: Solving the Iraq Problem Once and
For All. Ritter produced a documentary film,IN
SHIFTING SANDS: The Truth About UNSCOM and the Disarming of Iraq,
which exposes the ramifications of the failure of the U.S.
policy of economic sanctions-based containment of Iraq.
